Atlantika. About Sevastopol

The history of Sevastopol abounds in events that were significant not only for Ukraine and Russia, but for the whole world. The Ancient Greek colony Chersonesos that located here was connected with the names of apostle Andrew the First Call, Saint Clement and Saint Martin. It was Chersonesos where in 988 Prince Vladimir the Saint was baprized and brought Christianity to Rus. The city of Sevastopol (in Greek “the city of glory”) was built during the ruling of Catherine II and since that time it justified its name having become the main military port of Russia on the Black Sea. Sevastopol being the city of military glory has many historical monuments (over 2 thousand). Even casual sightseeing of the places of interest will require no less than three days.
 

We recommend you to visit the following places:

 

  • Historical memorial complex in memory of Heroic Defenders of Sevastopol “35th Onshore Battery” (Golubaya Bay);
  • Sunken Ships Monument (Admiral Kornilov Embankment);
  • State Reserve “Chersonesos Taurica” (Drevnyaya Str., 1);
  • Panorama Museum “Defense of Sevastopol, 1845-1855” (Istorichesky Boulevard);
  • Military Historical Museum of the Black Sea Fleet (Lenina Str., 11);
  • Sevastopol Academic Russian Drama Theatre named after A.V. Lunacharsky (Nakhimova Str., 6);
  • Drama Theatre of RF Black Sea Fleet named after B.A. Lavreneva (Ushakova Str., 1);
  • Sevastopol Dolphinarium in Artbukhta (Kornilov Embankment, 2);
  • Marine Boulevard – the main green street of Sevastopol that witnessed many historical events;
  • Saint Clement Fratry Monastery (Sevastopol, town of Inkerman, P.O. box 25);
  • Malakhov Kurgan (Barrow);
  • Cave towns: Mangup-Kale and Eski-Kermen;
  • Aquapark “Zurbagan” (“Victory” Parki near Omega Bay).

 

 

Sevastopol beaches. Unlike other Crimean resorts all beaches of Sevastopol are free of charge.

The Sevastopol beaches locate not far from Hotel “Atlantika”:  

1. Beach “Omega”. This is the pebble-sand beach, the second largest in Sevastopol. On the beach territory you can also find bars, discotheque, trading stalls.Beach “Omega” is one of the recreational places in Sevastopol.  
The distance from Hotel “Atlantika” to the beach is 3 km.

2. Beach “Park Pobedy”. This pebble beach provided with rent of plank beds is considered one of the best in Sevastopol. On the beach territory you can find several bars and trading stalls. Aquapark “Zurbagan”, the only one in Sevastopol, locates in 10 minutes walking from the beach.
The distance from Hotel “Atlantika” is 5 km.

3. Beaches “Kazachia Bay” include several unequipped beaches and the organized beach “Blue Bay”. The beaches are pebble, stony.

The distance from Hotel “Atlantika” is 10 km.



Entertainment:

  • The cultural and information center locates across the road from Hotel “Atlantika” where city festivities, musical festivals, performances of Russian and Ukrainian show stars are held.
  • Hotel “Atlantika” has the Billiards Club “KIKS” open for all visitors. The owner of this club is the Sevastopol Billiards Sport Center. Here you can play on professional tables in pool, Russian billiards and snooker.
  • Near Hotel “Atlantika” you can find Georgian Restaurant “Mziuri”, karaoke club; opposite the hotel there is disco-bar “Pirate Lagoon” where you can have good time.
  • One of the best entertainments for children and adults alike is aquapark “Zurbagan” located in 7-10 minute drive from the hotel in Park Pobedy. Here you can find chutes for children and adults, basins, café, attractions, beach plank beds and tents.
  • On the territory of Park Pobedy there are also attractions for children.
  • In 15 minute drive from Hotel “Atlantika” the Ukrainain oceanarium locates in Kazachia Bay. Here you can visit shows of marine animals, such as dolphins, seals, sea lions. For a certain pay you can swim with trained dolphins under careful surveillance and guidance of a trainer.
